 Job Description:

he Adult Services Librarian plans and implements adult programming and outreach
services to the community, under the direction of the Head of Adult Services and Outreach, and in conjunction with other staff. Requirements:

M.L.S. or equivalent graduate degree from an institution accredited by the American Library Association or any combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities determined by Library Director. Public library experience preferred. Good communication skills, computer literacy and knowledge of reference tools and searching techniques are necessary. Excellent organizational and time management skills required.

Job requires some lifting, frequent walking and stair climbing, along with the ability to climb on stools and ladders to retrieve materials on high shelves. Ability to listen, understand, and interpret visitor and staff requests and questions critically. Self-motivation, a professional attitude, and a sense of commitment are necessary. Ability to work with the public, flexible attitude about tasks and faculty with learning new skills a must. Excellent customer service skills required. Ability to work cooperatively and patiently with staff and library users and possess good verbal and written communication skills. Computer literacy expected. Enthusiasm for reading is a definite plus. Appropriate attire and a courteous manner are expected.

Job Summary and Responsibilities:

Serves as a liaison to staff at local secondary schools. Plans and participates in community engagement activities with schools and community-based organizations. Performs other tasks as assigned. Requirements:

Minimum requirements (training, skills, education, experience):
•    Minimum of Master’s Degree from an ALA accredited institution and 2 years public library experience OR BS/BA and 3-5 years related experience in a public library setting
•    Ability to work as part of a team in a busy public library and interact with a diverse public in a welcoming and respectful way
•    Thorough understanding of adolescent development and advance knowledge of library services to teens
•    A strong knowledge of tween and teen literature

 Job Description:

The Westborough Public Library seeks applications from qualified, enthusiastic, innovative individuals for the full-time position of Library Director. This is an opportunity to lead a library that is busy, loved by the community, and a true “heart” of the community. This position is appointed by, and reports to, a nine-member elected Board of Trustees. The ideal candidate will be ready and eager to lead an enthusiastic, service-driven, high-performing team that’s currently 13 FTE that values professionalism, integrity, and responsiveness. Wage Range:

Children’s Librarian, Seabrook Library, Seabrook NH

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:   This is a full-time position responsible for providing library services and resources for children. This role involves planning and implementing programs, assisting with research and reference inquiries, promoting literacy, creating a love of reading, and creating a welcoming and engaging environment for young library patrons.  Occasional circulation desk coverage is also required.  Reports to the Director.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  MLS degree preferred.  Experience working with children of all ages, as well as parents/caregivers.  Library experience is preferred, but not required.  A combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skill, and ability may be considered.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

·         Demonstrated ability to relate to and maintain discipline among children, to communicate effectively with them and their parents.

·         Ability to work independently.

·         Knowledge of computers, library automation systems, and familiarity with audiovisual and office equipment.

·         Ability to pass SAU 21 criminal background check per RSA 189:13-a.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
